Crested Butte has some great places to ride horses in the backcountry.  From 1 hour tours to all day trips there are outfitters ready to set up your horsebacking riding adventure.  The Fantasy Ranch is the closest outfitter to the Pioneer and takes people on rides around beautiful wildflower laden Snodgrass Mountain and on longer trips into the Raggeds Wilderness area.  Tenderfoot outfitters rides in the incredible West Elk Wilderness area closer to Gunnison a great option for those looking to go for a longer adventure to “the castles.”
