The Pioneer is right in the middle of the Cement Creek Valley which gets it's name from the interesting rock towers that have formed over millions of years. They are beautiful to look at and also fun to climb. There are many great pitches that you can hike to right from the Pioneer. Top rope, bolted and multipitch climbs can be done on nice granite slabs on hikes starting right from your cabin door. Rock climbing is a great activity to get a guide for.
